"Buck" Carter October 2 Elvin D. "Buck" Carter, 64, a native and lifelong resident of Winn Parish, died at his home here at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday of a heart attack. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. W. L. Holcomb officiating. Burial was in Sanders Chapel Cemetery near Calvin under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Don L. Carter, Monroe; Ledrew Lowe and J. C. Jackson, Baton Rouge; Ira Key and Jepp Dayton Carter, Winnfield, and Leon Lowe, Verda. Mr. Carter was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Winnfield First Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, C. C. Carter of Winnfield; two brothers, Charles M. Carter, Jonesboro, and L. C. Carter, Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Lowe, Verda, Mrs. Mollie Jackson and Mrs. Lorena Williams, both of Winnfield.
