Father Of Mrs. J. Cheston Stevens Dies February 18

Eugene Carter of Baton Rouge, father of Mrs. J. Cheston Stevens, of Route 3,
Winnfield, died Sunday, February 18, 1973, in a Baton Rouge hospital of an
apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held at a Port Allen funeral home Tuesday at 9 a.m. with
Dr. Durett, pastor of First Baptist Church in Port Allen officiating, assisted
by Rev. Roy Moore, pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church near Winnfield. Burial
was in Pine Hill Cemetery near Urania.

Survivors include three other daughters, Mrs. L. G. Witty, Sr., of Port Allen,
Mrs. Ira Strother of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Joe Bethard of Shreveport; several
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Grandsons were pallbearers.
