Carter, Winn Native, Dies October 15 James G. Carter, 63, of Kinder, died in an Alexandria hospital at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, October 15, 1967 after a long illness. A native of Winn Parish, Mr. Carter was a railroad engineer. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield with Rev. E. B. Barton officiating. Burial was in Sanders Cemetery near Calvin. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Boyd Carter of Kinder; one son, James B. Carter of Kinder; two daughters, Mrs. Kay Nettles of Alexandria and Mrs. Jimmie Ruth Chandler of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two brothers, Robert Carter and E. K. Carter, both of Calvin; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Quarles and Mrs. Lou Maxey, both of Calvin and Mrs. Willie Rhymes of Winnfield; and three grandchildren.
