James Carter Dies; Burial At St. Maurice

James Carter, 95, of Campti, died Saturday morning, November 25, 1972, at the
Veterans Hospital in Shreveport.

Requim Mass was at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the St. Maurice Catholic Church. 
Burial was in the St. Maurice Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral
Home of Winnfield.

A native of Campti, Mr. Carter owned a sawmill in Campti for a number of
years.  He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Peter Carter of St. Maurice and Owen Carter of
Campti; one daughter, Mrs. Novella C. Harrison of Camptil; one brother, Walter
Carter of Clarence; one sister, Mrs. Emma Desadier of Clarence; 19
grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
