Mrs. Carter, 83, Succumbs; Rites Monday

Mrs. Lillie Lee Carter, 83, of Winnfield, died Monday, November 12, 1973, at
9:45 p.m. in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Weeks of Goldonna, Mrs. Perl
Carpenter, Mrs. Ellen Garrett, and Mrs. Helen Koone, all of Winnfield; four
brothers, T. H. Blake of Evadale, Texas, E. J. Blake of Lake Charles, Mason
Blake of Cullen, and Isom Blake of Goldonna; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Durbin
of Goldonna, Mrs. Lou Peterson of Shreveport, and Mrs. Docia Martin of Lake
Charles; 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and one great great
grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church
with Rev. Wilmer Jordan officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
