C. Carter, 77, Dies Jan. 1; Rites Held Tues. Mrs. Louella Miller Carter, 77, died Monday, January 1, 1967 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a native of Bienville. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Southern Funeral Home with the Rev. R. Gage officiating. Burial was in the Old Winnfield City Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, L. C. Carter, one daughter, Mrs. Louise Watts of Winnfield; one nephew, C. C. Carter of Winnfield; two brothers, Homer Millter and Walter Miller, both of Bernice; three sisters, Mrs. J. C. Webb and Mrs. Willie Lee Thompson, both of Bernice, and Mrs. J. W. Hammett of Monroe; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Thompson, Don L. Carter, Loyd Miller Frey, W. S. Carter, James Watts, George Brewton, Don Walsh, and Leon Lowe.
