According to reports from that town Friday morning, it is not known who did the shooting, at this time, nor just what the dispute was, how it started or anything that happened just after the shooting ceased, but it is believed by some to have been a typical "drunken brawl" such as are often seen in an oil town. "Just as sure as business comes with an oil boom and lots of money and whiskey, usually bootleg, and gambling and the many other forms of vice enter the community that only the progressive spirit and determination of the good citizens of the town can live down. It is only natural for these things to come; many other town have had them along with the boom but have been strong enough to suppress them and today have become some of our leading cities in different states. What has happened in Tullos, in a way, is no credit to that town, but can be lived down just as easily there as anywhere else," stated one citizen. As we go to press, we are unable to give a report as the condition of Geo. Stewart, nor are we able to give the results of the investigation of the murder.
