Carson, Winn Native, Dies Monday Owen H. Carson, 50, of Shreveport, died in the Confederate Memorial Medical Center Monday, February 7, 1972, following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Winn Parish and was a butcher. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Sanders Chapel Church with the Rev. Johnny Hollingsworth officiating. Burial was in the Sanders Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow; one son, William H. Carson of Shreveport; three daughters, Ann Hanson of Shreveport, Linda Dell Mathis of Nashville, and Nanette Boothe, of El Dorado, Ark.; one brother, Jack Carson of Shreveport; three sisters, Hazel McDaniel, Lena Callahan, and Eloise Haymon, all of Shreveport; his mother, Mrs. Tom Carson of Calvin; and six grandchildren.
