MOLLIE D. CARPENTER, 65 Funeral services for Mrs. Mollie Dean Carpenter, 65, of Winnfield, were held at the Laurel Heights Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, with the Rev. R.C. Ayres officiating, assisted by Rev. H.J. Mott and Rev. C.M. Robinson. Burial was in Winnfield cemetery under direction of Hixson funeral home. Mrs. Carpenter, a resident of Winnfield for the past nine years, died at a local hospital Friday after an illness of only one week. She was a native of Goldonna. Surviving are two sons, Curtis of Bienville and Kenneth of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Villie Carroll, Mrs. Irene Anderson, and Mrs. Floy Carpenter, all of Winnfield; two brothers, Willie Dean of Homer and Leon Dean of Goldonna; six sisters, Mrs. Leona Alford and Mrs. Georgia Stewart of Jonesboro; Mrs. C.M. Robinson and Mrs. Vivian Gibbs of Winnfield, Mrs. Nannie Zimmerman of Springhill, and Miss Janie Dean of Goldonna; and a number of grandchildren. Pallbearers were: F.C. Carpenter, V.A. Alford, Jessie Alford, Lawson Alford, T.F. Roberts, and Floyd Stewart.
