R. H. Carpenter Dies; Rites At Sanders Chapel

Richard H. Carpenter, 80, of Calvin, died November 19, 1968 in a local
hospital.

He was a retired farmer and a native of Winn Parish.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders Chapel 
Methodist Church with Rev. Grafton Shaw officiating.  Interment, under 
direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bertha Carpenter of Calvin; four sons, J. C.
Carpenter of Shringhill, John R. Carpenter of Sacremento, California, Alon
Carpenter of Shreveport, Hightower Carpenter of Vidalia; two daughters, Mrs.
Josie Bonnette of Sarepta and Mrs. Mavis Holton of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs.
Laura Harris of West Monroe; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.
