He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert S. Carpenter of Bethel Community, Winnfield, Route 4. He had been ill for several months. The boy was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ. Funeral services were held at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Harper, of Shreveport, and Rev. Elton Hughes, of Maplewood, officiating. Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield was in charge of burial, at Bethlehem Cemetery. Survivors are his parents, one brother, Kenneth Carpenter, two sisters, Norma Jean and Sharon, all of Winnfield, Route 4, his grandmother, Mrs. S. Garrett, and grandfather, J. M. Carpenter, and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were his classmates, Jimmy Ray Martin, Donald Griffin, Melvin Moore, Alvin Stevens, George Thomas Cloud, and John Milton Price.
