All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: November 9, 1967 Winn Parish Enterprise-News American Tom Carson, 87, Sanders Comm., Dies October 27 Thomas Monroe Carson, 87, a resident of the Sanders Community near Calvin, passed away Friday morning at 3 o'clock October 27, 1967 at his home after a lengthy illness. funerla services were conducted at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at the Sanders Chapel Church with the Rev. Henry T. Isgette assisted by the Rev. L. G. Shaw officating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. He was a native of Winn Parish and had lived near Calvin all of his life and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Carson. He was a member of the Sanders Methodist Church and was very active until his health failed him some few years ago. Acting as pallbearers were K. C. Mixon, Reed Carson, Edmond Carter, Arnold Murphy, Dayton Carter and Billy Carson. He is survived by his wife, mrs. Tina Mixon Carson, two sons, Jack of Calvin, Owens of Shreveport, three daughters, Mrs. Hazel McDaniel, Mrs. Lena B. Callahan, Mrs. Eloise Haymon, all of Shreveport, three sisters, Mrs. Attie Mixon, Mrs. Tina Bundrick of Winnfield, Mrs. Lela Moss of Cameron, La., one brother, Charlie Carson of Pitkin, La., 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
