L. Carter, Sr., Dies; Rites At Bethlehem Daniel L. Carter, Sr., 77, of Winnfield, died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 1974 in Lincoln Parish Hospital. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Carter was a native of Winn Parish and a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. D. L. Carter, Sr., of Winnfield; a son, D. L. Carter, Jr., of Winnfield; a daughter, Mrs. Travis Taylor of Winnfield; a stepson, Lonnie Chandler of Winnfield; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Theda Ainley of Bastrop, Mrs. Charles Cagle of Natchitoches, Mrs. Jeaneze Miescke of Horicaon, Wis., and Mrs. Cortez Wooster of Alvin, Tex.; a brother, G. B. Carter of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Bates of Winnfield and Mrs. Emma Peterson of Goldonna; 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, 15 step- grandchildren, and one step-great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday in Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. L. M. Robertson, Rev. Wilmer Jordan, and Rev. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Danny Carter, Donnie Carter, Terry Taylor, Bud Carter, David Chandler, R. C. Bartlett, Willard Taylor, and Virgil Carpenter.
