N. Carter Held At Bethlehem Funeral services for David Nelson Carter of Baton Rouge were held Saturday, January 16, 1963 at 2 o'clock at the Bethlehem Baptist Church near Calvin with Rev. Edgar Gunter and Rev. Merle Bates officiating. Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mr. Carter died unexpectedly late Thursday night at his residence in Baton Rouge following a heart attack. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pinie Golden Carter, Baton Rouge; three sons, David Carter, Natchitoches, Lester Carter, Biloxi, Miss., and Glenn Carter, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Mrs. Ima Linton, Hodge, Mrs. Idell McCarty of West Monroe; his mother, Mrs. Betty Carter; two brothers, Dan Carter and G. B. Carter, all of Rt. 3, Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Evie Bates, Winnfield, Mrs. Julia Bates, Rt. 3, Winnfield, and Mrs. Emma Peterson of Goldonna; and 15 grandchildren. Pallbearers were D. L. Carter, Jr., Pete Peterson, Hud Carter, Aubrey Lowery, Edwin Golden, and Luther Rhymes.
