All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: June 9, 1966 Winn Parish Enterprise-News American Funeral Rites For Mrs. Betty Carter Held Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Carter, 91, of Winnfield who died Monday, June 6, 1966, in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem Baptist Church. The Rev. William Russell and the Rev. D. W. McDaniel officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish and was the daughter of Sam Chandler, Winn Parish pioneer and civic leader. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Evie Bates and Mrs. Julia Bates, of Winnfield, and Mrs. Emma Peterson, Goldonna; two sons, Dan Carter and G. B. Carter of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Lettie Fannin of Winnfield and Mrs. Suzie Blake of Corsicana, Tex.; four brothers, George Chandler and Fayte Chandler of Winnfield, Albert Chandler of Calvin and Richard Chandler of Oak Grove; 13 grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
