Carter, Retired T & G Employee, Dies Funeral service for Leon C. Carter, 81, of Winnfield, who died Sunday, October 24, 1971, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Southern Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert Gage officiating, assisted by Rev. Calvin Phelps. Burial was in the Winnfield City Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Mr. Carter was a retired employee of the T. & G. Rairoad, a member of the Baptist Church, a Mason for 53 years, a Shriner, and member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Louise Watts, and _____ C. C. Carter, both of Winnfield; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie C. Jackson of Winnfield; Mrs. Virgil Williams of Winnfield; Mrs. Minnie Lowe of Verda. Pallbearers were J. C. Jackson, Leon Lowe, Dayton Carter, Don L. Carter, Lavelle_____, and Bob Lowe. Carter, and was raised by Mr. Carter.)
