C. CARTER, AGE 95, THURSDAY Born, Lived and Died at Home Place Near Calvin Funeral services for Robert C. Carter, Sr., age 95, one of Winn Parish's oldest citizens, who died at his native home at Calvin Wednesday morning at six o'clock, were held Thursday afternoon at three o'clock at Sanders Chapel and interment made in the cemetery there. The Rev. Harold Quarles conducted the last rites. Mr. Carter was born in 1843 and has lived continuously at that same place until his death. He was a member of one of the pioneer families of this section, many of whom lived to be far advanced in years, and many others by whom he is survived. He was a member of the Methodist church and held his membership at Sanders Chapel. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Pennie Carter, three daughters, Mrs. Lou Maxey, Calvin, Mrs. Ella Quarles, Jonesboro, Mrs. Willie Rhymes, Winnfield; four sons, Robert C. Carter, Jr., former Police Juror of Ward 8, Robbins Carter, Winnfield, Knoebel Carter, Calvin and Jim Carter, Winnfield, 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
