M. Carson Dies Fri. After Long Illness Thomas Monroe Carson, 87, died Friday, October 27, 1967 at his residence after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Sunday in Sanders Chapel at Calvin with the Rev. Grafton Shaw officiating. Burial was in the chapel cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. He was a farmer and a native of Winn Parish. Survivors are his widow; two sons, Owens H. Carson of Shreveport and Jack Carson of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel McDaniel, Mrs. Lena Callahan, and Mrs. Eloise Haymon, all of Shreveport; one brother, Charlie Carson of Pitkin; three sisters, Mrs. Lela Moss of Cameron, Mrs. Atti Mixon, and Mrs. Tina Bundrick, both of Winnfield; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
