Mrs. W. H. Carter Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. Myrtle Simpson Carter, 86, of Winnfield, widow of W. H. Carter, died
Saturday, July 16, 1977 in Hardtner Medical Center in Urania, after a long
illness.

Mrs. Carter was a native of Genoa, Texas and a member of the First Baptist
Church of Winnfield.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Southern Funeral Home Chapel
with Dr. W. L. Holcomb officiating.  Burial was in Winnfield City Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Albert Elias of Olla; two sisters, Miss
Maude Smith and Mrs. W. A. Simpson, both of Winnfield; four grandchildren,
and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Leon Lowe, W. S. Carter, Dawson Simpson, John Denson,
Hillary Blackwell, and William Moody.
