B. Caruthers, 67, Died After Long Illness March 10 Fowler B. Caruthers, 67, died in a local hospital Friday, March 10, at 4 a.m. after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. W. W. Broadway and Rev. E. J. Yokum officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Charlie Cranford, Jessie Dale Brewer, Roy James, Denver Fox, Edward Jordan, and Melvin James. A native of Texas, Mr. Caruthers had spent most of his life in Winn Parish. He was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church and of the Woodmen of the World. He was a World War I veteran and a former member of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Audie Fox Caruthers; one son, Fowler B. Caruthers, Jr., Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Jessie W. Johns, Minden; Miss Carolyn Dean Caruthers, Winnfield; two grandchildren; three brothers, E. O. Caruthers, Miami, Fla., A. H. and B. B. Caruthers, Freeport, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Cranford and Mrs. C. L. Watermolen, both of Braxton, Miss.
