Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Smith, Sr., of Winnfield, Mrs. Carson was a native of Winn parish and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Rev. J. Harold Smith, Rev. W. R. Gage, and Rev. Thomas Cox officiating. Burial, under direction of Southern Funeral Home, will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Sam Carson of Winnfield; five brothers, Clyde Smith, Sr., Marshall Smith, Esley Smith, P. K. Smith, and Hardy Jr. Smith, all of Winnfield; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Long, Miss Clotiel Smith, Mrs. Vernita Moore, all of Winnfield, Mrs. Vaudie Lee Hudnell of Bossier City. Pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, will be Perry Joe Smith, Benny Smith, Clyde Smith, Jr., James Hardy Smith, Cotton R. Long, Jimmy Dale Long. The remaining nephews will be honorary pallbearers.
