Charles "Charlie" S. Chandler, 72, of Route 2, Dodson, died Tuesday morning at Winnfield General Hospital. A native of Dodson, Chandler was in the timber business, before retiring. Mr. Chandler was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of the Tannehill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church, Rev. John Kitchingham officiating, assisted by Rev. Louis B. Williams. Interment will be in the Cypress Creek Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors are three sons, James Chandler, Dodson, Murry Chandler, Dodson, and Ray Chandler, Many; four brothers, Arthur L. Chandler, Dodson, Wendell Chandler, Dodson, Woodrow Chandler, Dodson, Leonard Chandler, Shreveport; five sisters, Mrs. Beulah Barnes, Shreveport, Mrs. Alma Taylor, Shreveport, Mrs. Elzie Roberts, DeRidder, Mrs. Vermelle Shively, Winnfield, Mrs. Gladys Taylor, Dodson; his stepmother, Mrs. Esther Chandler, Winnfield; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
