Funeral Services Held For Huey L. Cheeks

Funeral services were held Monday, August 18, for Huey L. Cheeks, 58, who died
suddenly while attending church services at the Sikes Pentecostal Church
Sunday.

Rites were held in the Sikes Pentecostal Church, of which he was a member,
conducted by Rev. A. B. Connor, of Winnfield.  Burial was in Sikes Cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home.  Mr. Cheek was a native of Ouachita
Parish, where he was born November 22, 1894.

He is survived by his wife, of Sikes; one son, Clyde, and one daughter, Mrs.
Josie Lee Parker, of Monroe; five brothers, Willie W., Thomas, J. H., Fred, of
West Monroe; Edward, of Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. S. J. Knowles of
West Monroe; Mrs. Sam Linder of Ruston; Mrs. Myla Lee of Lake Charles; Mrs. S.
P. Mathews of Allegan, Michigan, and two grandchildren.
