Funeral Services Held Monday For Huey L. Cheeks

Funeral services were held Monday, August 18, for Huey Cheeks, 58, who died
suddenly while attending church services at the Sikes Pentecostal Church,
Sunday.

Rites were held in the Sikes Pentecostal Church, of which he was a member,
conducted by Rev. A. B. Connor of Winnfield.  Burial was in Sikes Cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home.  Mr. Cheeks was a native of Ouachita
Parish, where he was born November 22, 1894.

He is survived by his wife, of Sikes; one son, Clyde; and one daughter, Mrs.
Josie Lee Parker of Monroe; five brothers, Willie W., Thomas, J. H., Fred, of
West Monroe; Edward of Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. S. J. Knowles of West
Monroe; Mrs. Sam Linder of Ruston; Mrs. Myla Lee of Lake Charles; Mrs. S. P.
Mathews of Allegan, Michigan; and two grandchildren.
