Chelette, 48, of Dodson, who died from tetanus in a Monroe hospital Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., will be held at the Sardis Baptist Church Thursday. Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Chelette, a veteran of World War Two, had the misfortune of getting the little finger of his left hand caught in a car door on August 31, which necessitated the removal of the finger at one of the joints. On Friday, Sept. 7, he developed tetanus, which caused his death on September 11. Surviving are his wife, the former Virginia Thompson, four sons, Waymon, Ray, Eugene, and Tommy Joe, all of Dodson; one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Clifton, of Albuquerque, N. M.; his father, Melton Chelette of Verda; mother, Mrs. Melton Chelette, Jena; a sister, Mrs. Ray Oglesby of Jena; three brothers, Roy of Indiana, Jesse of Jonesboro, and Henry Chelette of Veterans Hospital, Alexandria.
