Mrs. Katherine Beard Cherry

Services for Mrs. Katherine B. Cherry, 63, of Winnfield were held at 4 p. m.
Monday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Phelps
officiating.

Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Mrs. Cherry died Saturday, April 18, 1981 in the local hospital after a long
illness.

She was a retired sixth grade school teacher and a member of Alpha Delta
Kappa.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Reader's Review Club.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Cherry, Sr. of Winnfield; two sons,
Robert M. Cherry, Jr. of Santa Rosa, California and John Michael Cherry of
Sunset; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Margaret Shuman of Baton Rouge; a brother, Mike
J. Beard of Garwood, Texas; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lamar Tarver, David Caskey, Archie Chandler, Charles Bice,
Jackie James, and Buddy Jordan.
