She was a consecrated Christian, having joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age. A great vacancy is left in her home, church, and community. The thoughts of her many deeds of kindness and her sweet smiling face are left here as a memorial to her life's work. She was 37 years, 10 months, and 6 days old. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Chandler leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Mr. W. R. Chandler, three sons, Walter, Dewell, and Roland, and an infant baby girl, Lillie Lavay, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Griffin, four sisters, Mesdames Lelia Chandler, Etta Garrett, Jennett Garrett, and Elvie Howard, two brothers, Wheeler and Purvis Griffin. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Bethlehem Church Saturday at 3:00 o'clock p.m. by the Rev. Robinett of Ashland. Interment was made in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
