Chandler, 83, died Sunday, October 5, 1969 at 6:40 p.m. in a Winnfield hospital. Mrs. Chandler was the widow of the late Jim Chandler and was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Harold Walsworth of San Antonio, Texas, Wendell Chandler and Woodrow Chandler, both of Dodson, and Leonard Chandler of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Louie Taylor of Dodson and Mrs. Leroy Shively of Winnfield; one stepson, Arthur Chandler of Dodson; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Beulah Barnes and Mrs. Alma Taylor, both of Shreveport and Mrs. Auborn Roberts of DeRidder; two brothers, S. M. Shows of Mansfield and George Shows of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs. N. L. Horton of Winnfield and Mrs. Myrtle Adams of Coushatta; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield with Rev. Ernie Yocum, Rev. Louis Moffett, and Rev. C. C. Martin officiating. Burial was in Old Hebron Cemetery near Jonesboro. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Don Chandler, Bobby Chandler, Edward Dale Chandler, Lynn Taylor, Hayward Shively, and Fredrick Chandler.
