Christy, who lives a few miles below Montgomery, was accidentally drowned. She was setting out a shrimp-sack when she fell into the river, and no succor being at hand, she lost her life. A party came to Colfax on Friday for the purpose of watching for the body if it floated down the river. George Keary, ferryman at this point, discovered the body early on Monday morning last and brought it ashore. It was taken in charge by our fellow townsman, John R. Gray, who had a neat coffin made for it, and he shipped it on the Maria Louise and took it to its former home. The family expressed great joy on receiving the body of their lost one, as the deemed it gone forever.
