Carpenter Funeral services for Mr. Lanis Dale Carpenter were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Calvin High School auditorium with the Reverends Leonard Free, Lamar Carpenter, and Donald Rudd officiating. Masonic graveside services were held at the Bethlehem Cemetery. Funeral services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Carpenter, age 46, of Calvin, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 1995 at Winn Parish Medical Center. Carpenter was principal of Calvin High School from 1984 to 1994. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Calvin, a member of Calvin Masonic Lodge No. 431, F. & A. M., a former Executive Committee member of the Louisiana State High School Athletic Association, a member of the Kiwanis Club, and a member of the L. A. S. E. He was Supervisor of Secondary Education of Winn Parish Schools and served on the Board of Directors of Pine Ridge Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Glenda B. Carpenter of Calvin; one son, John N. Carpenter of Winnfield; one daughter, Holly Carpenter of Calvin; one brother and sister in law, James and Helga Carpenter of Patterson; and two sisters and a brother in law, Patsy N. Carpenter of Calvin, and Polly and Lester Ralph of Mooringsport, La.; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Dwaine Garrett, Ernie Bamburg, Ronald D. Canerday, Chris Barnett, Tommy Carpenter, Tony Acosta, Harvey Bartlett, Jerry Anderson, Rodney Shelton, and Kenneth Bates.
