All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: May 15, 1930 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral Services For Mrs. Caldwell To Be Held Friday Remains Will Be Interred At New Hope Church, Gaars Mill Community Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Caldwell, age 55 years, died in an Alexandria sanitarium Thursday morning at four o'clock after many years of ill health. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Church in the Gaars Mill Community, Friday morning at about ten o'clock. Mrs. Caldwell is the daughter of Mrs. W. A. Smith of Winnfield. She was born and reared in the Gaars Mill Community and was married to Dr. D. H. Caldwell of Gaars Mill, who died eight years later. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Caldwell made her home in Winnfield eighteen years. Besides her mother, the deceased is survived by a son, Grady Caldwell, of Shreveport, and a daughter, Mrs. Alfred Berlin of Alexandria, who were both at the bedside of their mother when death came. She is also survived by three brothers, Jay Smith of Jefferson Barracks, Mo., George Smith of St. Louis, Mo., and Eric Smith of Winnfield.
