Mrs. Sarah Clifton, Former Winn Citizen, Succumbs in Rapides 

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Avis Banks Clifton of Alexandria, formerly of
Ward 10 in Winn Parish, were conducted at the Palestine Methodist Church at 3
p.m. Monday, with the Rev. McCann officiating, assisted by Rev. C. M. Robinson
and Rev. Curtis.  Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery.

Mrs. Clifton died at her home near Alexandria April 9, 1949, after an illness
of several weeks.

Surviving are her husband, W. L. Clifton; two sons, Fillmore and W. L., Jr.,
and four daughters, Mrs. Neil Carroll, Mrs. Julius E. Mesgrove, Mrs. Ben
Abring, and Miss Marion Clifton; two sisters and one brother.
