Clark, 83, passed away at her home in South Winnfield Thursday, February 26, at 11 a.m. following a long illness. Funeral services were held Friday at 1 p.m. in the South Winnfield Baptist Church with Rev. R. J. Sjolander officiating. Interment was in the Smith Cemetery near Monroe under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Winnfield. Grandma Clark, as she was known to all of her neighbors and friends was born in Jackson Parish on December 27, 1869. She had been a resident of Winn Parish for the past thirty-two years and of South Winnfield for the past twenty-four years. She was loved by all who knew her and had been a neighbor and friend to the people in her community. She was a member of the Baptist Church, but had not been able to attend services the last few years due to her health and inability to see as she had been almost totally blind for some time. Grandma made her home with her daughter, Mrs. I. H. Beasley, and her granddaughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Fletcher. Other survivors include another daughter, Mrs. T. J. Lawson of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Buster Goins, Seiss Nugent, Troy Lee Frederick, Sam Turner, George Bemont, and Willie Edward Frederick.
