All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 4, 1973 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Funeral Rites For Curtis Mayes At Beech Creek Funeral services for Curtis Mayes, 62, of Tullos, who died Monday, July 2, 1972, at Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport after a brief illness were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Beech Creek Baptist Church. A retired welder, Mr. Mayes was a deacon in the Beech Creek Baptist Church of which he was a member. Officiating at the services were Rev. E. B. Barton, Rev. Douglas Prescott, and Rev. Louis Holt. Interment was in the Beech Creek Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucy McCarty Mayes; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald Griffin, both of Tullos; one son, James Ted Mayes of Alexandria; four brothers, Jerry Mayes, J. V. Mayes, and H. M. Mayes, all of Grayson, and D. G. Mayes of Urania; two sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Smith of Winnfield and Mrs. Vivian Gamble of New Orleans; and three grandchildren.
