Claude McHenry, an employee of A. and R. Wood Company, apparently lost control of the log truck he was driving when it entered a curve about 1.4 miles from Joyce. According to investigating state trooper A. W. Warren, the truck left the road, overturned, and the logs it was carrying crushed the cab. McHenry was pinned under the logs when Trooper Warren arrived. Warren said McHenry was dead at the scene of the accident. There were no signs to indicate the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed, Warren reported. He added that the curve was a long, sweeping one and that it was difficult to maneuver. The body was taken to Ben Johnson Funeral Home by hearse.
