Q. Cockerham Held On Wednesday 74 Year Old Native Of Winn Dies Monday After A Heart Attack Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday for Calvin Quincy Cockerham, 74, Dodson, Route Two, who died at his home early Monday evening, Oct. 20, 1952 as the result of a heart attack. He had been in ill health for some time. Rites were conducted at the family residence by the Rev. Aaron Gorham, and interment was in the Cypress Creek Cemetery under direction of the Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were James, Ozie, and Henry Cockerham, Leon Carpenter, Webb Hodges, and J. D. Rudd. Born Aug. 27, 1878, Mr. Cockerham was a native of Winn Parish and lived here practically all of his life. He is survived by his wife, one son, C. Q. Cockerham, Jr., of Dodson; two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Higgs of Dodson, and Mrs. Linnie Lovell of Winnfield; two brothers, John Cockerham of Winnfield and S. G. Cockerham of Milford, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Wiley Boyett of Dodson, Route Two; Mrs. Ed Coonce of Rayville, and Mrs. Katie Deen of Winnsboro; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
