Ira A. Cockerham, 80, retired oilman of Rt. 2, Grayson, died at 2 p.m. Sunday April 3, 1966 enroute to the Columbia hospital. He was a native of Joyce and a member of the Old Union Baptist Church near Joyce. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Old Union Baptist Church with Rev. J. C. Creel and Rev. Harrison Cockerham officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. He is survived by his wife, Romella S. Cockerham; two step sons, Morgan Wheat of Sikes, and Rudolph Wheat of Bentley, a step-daughter, Mrs. J. W. Hatten of Sikes and eight grandchildren.
