Cockerham Is Buried At Cypress Creek on May 8th Mrs. J. D. Cockerham died at Ringgold on May 7th and was buried at Cypress Creek on the 8th at 3 o'clock. Services were conducted by the Rev. W. D. Sherwood of Sardis. Her husband, J. D. Cockerham, preceded her in death. She was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Martin Borden and was born in Winn Parish October 3, 1878 and was 59 years of age. She joined the Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and lived a devoted life. She leaves to mourn her death six children, Henry, Clay, Willie and J. D. Cockerham of Italy, Texas; Mrs. Beula Postell and Mrs. Eula Crain of Ringgold and the following brothers and sister, P. C. Borden, Pioneer, La., J. O. Borden, Oak Grove, La., W. M. Borden, Cleburn, Texas, and Mrs. W. E. Jones of Cypress Creek. Active pallbearers were Waymon Jones, C. Q. Cockerham, Durward Jones, Alton Caskey, Olan Jones, and J. C. Chandler.
