A. Cogley Funeral services were held yesterday for Jacob Arthur Cogley, 66, retired Carey Salt Company employee, who died Tuesday, October 24, at his home near Winnfield. Services were conducted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, assisted by Rev. Clovis Cole and Rev. W. C. Bounds. Burial was at New Jerusalem Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Howard Parham, W. H. Cameron, L. C. Kolb, Lee Davis, V. C. Robbins, and W. R. Eagles. Hixson Brothers Funeral Home was in charge. Mr. Cogley passed away at 3:20 a.m. at the age of 66 years, four months, and eight days. He was employed by Carey Salt Company for 16 years and upon his retirement last summer was honored at a special party given for him. Deceased was born June 16, 1884 in Grand Rapids, Ohio, and came to Louisiana in 1906. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Stella Cogley of Winnfield; one son, H. A. Cogley, Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. J. L. Bishop, Winnfield and Mrs. H. H. Foster, Effie, La.; one brother, H. P. Cogley, Winnfield; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
