Collins, Sr., Succumbs; Burial At Bethlehem Funeral services for W. H. Collins, Sr., 64, of Bethlehem community, employee of the U. S. Forestry Service for 18 or 20 years, died suddenly from a heart attack at the home of his son, W. H. Colllins, Jr., Ward Eight, Friday, June 24, 9 a.m. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating were Rev. L. H. Hickman, assisted by W. H. Morgan of LeCompte, and Gilbert Carpenter, Calvin. Graveside services were in charge of the Masonic Order. Acting as pallbearers were Alon, Leon, W. E. and Bob Carpenter, Ernie Yocum, all of Calvin, and Malcolm Collins, Alexandria. A native of Winn Parish, Mr. Collins was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and of the Calvin Masonic Lodge, and was prominently known throughout this area. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nola Carpenter Collins; one son, W. H., Jr., Bethlehem Community; three daughters, Mrs. Rosa Mae Cooper and Mrs. J. W. Boone, Bethlehem; Mrs. Beatrice Cutrer, of Magnolia, Miss.; and six grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, J. T. Collins, Alexandria; George Collins, Urania; two sisters, Mrs. Luther Carpenter, Bethlehem, and Mrs. Jesse Milstead, Montgomery.
