May 1 Mrs. Annie Colwell, wife of L. R. Colwell, died at her home in Winnfield Sunday, May 12th, 1929 following an illness of several days. Mrs. Colwell was born in Belton, Texas May 15th, 1863, and was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. H. Bradford. She was united in marriage to L. R. Colwell in 1884 and to this union ten children were born, only six whom survive her. Mrs. Colwell was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 11 o'clock at the home of Dr. C. C. Wier, with interment in the Winnfield Cemetery. Surviving the deceased are her husband, L. R. Colwell; two sons, D. T. Colwell of Alexandria; L W. Colwell of Bossier City; four daughters, Mrs. R. L. Thomas and Miss Olive Colwell of Winnfield; Mrs. Rush Crain of Dallas, and Mrs. Richard Porter of Ferriday. The out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mrs. Max Burgdorf and son of Natchitoches; Frank and Rother Smith of Tremont; Miss Dorothy Frazier of Eros; Mrs. Lula Bradford and son, Eugene of Tullos; and Mr. Hamilton Foster and son of Monroe.
