B. Cole Dies; Funeral Rites Held Saturday C. B. Cole, 93, of Winnfield, died Friday, October 3, 1969, in a Columbia hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Chapel here with the Rev. S. B. Spinks officiating, assisted by Rev. W. R. Gage. Burial was in Winnfield Cemetery. A native of Texas, Mr. Cole was in the mercantile business in his early years with his sisters, the late Misses Janie and Eva Cole, and was later associated with his son, I. B. Cole, at a Mobil station and bulk plant. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, I. B. Cole and John R. Cole, both of Winnfield, and Fred Cole of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Alliene Melancon of Natchitoches and Mrs. Mildred Crooks of Jena; two sisters, Mrs. Meda Embree of Atlanta, Texas and Mrs. Rabie Jones of Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Pete Cole, Clyde Crooks, Charles Crooks, Allen Jones, Richard Cole, and Tommy Melancon.
