Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Winnfield with Rev. Glen Reeves and Mr. Bill Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Miss Cole was born March 25, 1872 in Douglasville, Texas. She came to Winn Parish over 50 years ago and was engaged in the dry goods and ladies ready- to-wear business in downtown Winnfield for many years. Later she operated a small neighborhood store near her home on Pecan Street. She was instrumental in organizing the First Christian Church in Winnfield and had been an active member of the church for over 50 years. Survivors include one brother, C. B. Cole of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. C. R. Wood of Winnfield; Mrs. A. L. Jones of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. J. M. Embree of Atlanta, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
