P. Collins of Monroe, who resided at Route 5, Winnsboro, died at noon Thursday, October 27, 1966 at the E. A. Conway Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hixson's Funeral Home in Monroe, La. with the Revs. E. L. Tanner, Fred Wald, and Ernest Spence officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Other survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jewell Collins of Winnsboro; two sons, John Porter Collins of Harrison, Ark., and M/Sgt. Jack E. Collins who is stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Tex.; two brothers, Dr. Collins and James W. Collins of Winnfield, a half-brother, Julius Beard of Stonewall; two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Montgomery of Bellwood and Mrs. Annie Mae Hinton of Baton Rouge; two half-sisters, Mrs. Clara McMurray of Winnfield and Mrs. Lee Adams of Portland, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.
