H. C. Collins, 74, Of Jordan Hill, Died January 5

Funeral services for H. C. Collins, 74, who died at a Jena clinic on Monday,
January 5, were held at the Sanders Chapel Baptist Church near Calvin on
Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 6, with Rev. Cockerham officiating.  Burial was in the
Sanders Chapel Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. H. C. Collins of Jordan Hill; two daughters,
Mrs. J. H. Long of Winnfield and Mrs. Estelle Vaughn of Pollock; two sons,
Will Collins of Jena and George Collins of Trout; one stepson, Joe Sanford of
Winnfield; three brothers, George Collins of Colfax, Reiley Collins of
Mooringsport and David Collins of Timpson, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Ross
of Goldonna, March McCollom of Montgomery; eight grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.

Mr. Collins, who was born September 8, 1874 was a member of the Baptist Church
and had been a resident of the Jordan Hill Community for many years.
