T. Collins of Winnfield, Route One, succumbed at her home May 30, 1943. Funeral services were held June 1st at the Sardis Church with the Rev. W. D. Sherwood and the Rev. T. T. Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Swindle Cemetery. Born in Winn Parish on February 14, 1881, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. Barton, Mrs. Collins became a member of the Baptist Church at the age of ten years. At the time of her death she was affiliated with the Sardis Church. She was a devoted Christian, a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. On October 13, 1897, she was married to W. T. Collins. Surviving are her husband; nine sons and daughters: Mrs. L. R. Dick of Smackover, Ark., Mrs. J. A. Young of Norphlet, Ark., Mrs. Pete Smith and Mrs. Howard Boyette of Winnfield, Route Four, Mrs. M. H. McIlwain of Winnfield, Route One, Ed Collins of Atlanta, Roy Collins of Springhill, Pfc. Luther Collins of Camp Polk, La., and Cpl. Dewitt Collins of Ft. Braff, N. Carolina. She also leaves two brothers, Erb and Charlie Barton of Winnfield, and three sisters, Mrs. Jim Collins, Mrs. Warren Ray, and Mr. George Tidwell, all of Winnfield. Nineteen grandchildren also survive.
