All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 22, 1932 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral Rites Held Here For Roy Colvin Dies At His Home in Georgetown After A Stroke Of Paralysis Roy Colvin, 39 years of age, died at his home in Georgetown, La., Tuesday morning, September 20, 1932. He had been ill only since Friday, having had a stroke of paralysis and hemorrhages of the brain. Funeral services were conducted at Georgetown by the Rev. A. H. Cullen, Baptist pastor of Winnfield. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery with Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian minister, in charge of the services. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Justin Colvin, Henry Colvin, Richard Colvin, Jared Bevill, Howard Finn, and W. E. LaCroix. The deceased was born in Lincoln Parish and moved to Winnfield when a child with his parents. He was the son of the late J. A. Colvin. While living here he married Miss Sallie Mobley, of Bernice. They have been residing at Georgetown for a number of years where he owned a freight line.
