H. Cookston, 92, died Friday, December 23, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. W. DeLaughter, in Sparkman, Ark. Funeral services were held in Jonesboro, La., at the Edmonds Funeral Home chapel Sunday morning, December 25, at 10:00 o'clock with Rev. Hearn, Baptist pastor, conducting the services. As a resident of Winnfield from 1915 to 1945, Mr. Cookston was engaged in timber and saw mill business. Survivors are one son, Roy Cookston, of Alexandria, La., and a daughter, Mrs. G. W. DeLaughter, of Sparkman, Ark,; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Pallbearers, grandsons of the deceased, were Jimmie Cookston, Dr. Cavitt Cookston, John DeLaughter, James Taylor, G. W. DeLaughter, Jr., Roy P. Cookston, Gresham Shinn, and Ray Jenkins.
