W. Cook Dies At His Farm Home At Wheeling Jan. 6 A heart attack took the life of Joseph W. Cook, 64, of Shreveport Friday, January 6, at his farm home in the Wheeling community. Mr. and Mrs. Cook had come down to spend a few days on their farm and at about 10:30 a.m. he suffered a heart attack which was fatal. Mr. Cook was a tree farmer of Winn Parish and had recently received his certificate from the Louisiana Forestry Association at ceremonies in Winnfield. He was a retired laboratory technician from Haynesville and Shreveport and was a faithful member of the Broadmoor Baptist Church of Shreveport. Funeral services were held in Shreveport Sunday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Forest Park Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Blanche Pope Cook of Shreveport; two sons, William of Shreveport and James of Monroe; two grandchildren; one step granddaughter; one sister, Mrs. Nina Bell Mitchell of Montgomery; a number of nieces and a host of friends.
