L. Corbett, 70, Is Buried June 16 In Verda Cemetery Robert Lester Corbett, 70, died Monday, June 15, 1964 in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. He was a native and resident of Grant Parish and a retired timber worker. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. R. L. Corbett of Verda; one son, Arnold Corbett of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. John (Myrtis) Poisso of Winnfield; two brothers, Walter Corbett of Verda and B. H. Corbett of Colfax; four sisters, Mrs. R. J. Sermons and Mrs. R. S. Maxwell of Colfax, Mrs. Ida Anderson of Shreveport, and Mrs. Wessie Feazel of Jena; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Verda Baptist Church with Reverends Walter Barnard, James Ganey, and Kenneth Wall officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield. Acting as pallbearers were Huey and Grady Lasyone, Raymond Rogers, Wilmer Fletcher, Bobby Sanders, and Robert Wallace.
